Frequency of Oral Carcinoma, Leukoplakia, Leukokeratosis, Leukoedema, Submucous Fibrosis, and Lichen Planus in 10,000 Indians in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India Preliminary Report

Abstract
In the Dental College, Lucknow, India, 10,000 people were examined for oral white lesions. The following frequencies were found: carcinoma: 0.24%, leukoplakia: 3.28%, leukokeratosis nicotina palati: 0.71%, leukoedema 1.66%, submucous fibrosis: 0.51%, and lichen planus: 0.19%. Thirty-three per cent of all examined had one or several smoking and/or chewing habits.Keywords
