Abstract
The Magdalenian sites of the centre of the Paris river‐basin, their geographical location, and their chronology are surveyed and discussed. Principal characteristic tool‐types of the industry are analysed. Differences with the ‘classic’ Magdalenian of Perigord are shown. It is suggested that relationships over a long period with contemporary populations of the Northern European plains are responsible for these differences.
