A Preliminary Study of the Microelement Composition of the Outer Layer of Dental Enamel

Abstract
The outer layer of enamel of [human] teeth obtained from diverse populations and geographic areas was removed by an acid etch technique and the dried residues analyzed for microelement composition by spark source mass spectrometry. Of the 66 elements studied, 25 were identified in all samples and a further 12 were identified in some samples.
