Experimental Cryoapplication with Variations in the Pressure Exerted on the Sclera

Abstract
Study of cryolesions produced by varying pressures exerted on rabbit sclera with a constant temperature of ––79 C and an application time of 5 seconds. The histological sections were studied 4 h, 4 days, 1 week and 1 month after cryoapplication. Significant differences were produced in lesion intensity when scleral pressures of 36, 70, 110 and 165 g were used. Optimal adhesion without deleterious side-effects was obtained on attached rabbit retinas with a pressure of 70 g.
