Abstract
Arsenate is an inhibitor of growth-substance action and respiratory increase (both indoleacetic acid induced), without affecting endogenous respiration of the Avena coleoptile. The range of 10-5 - 10-4 [image] produced this effect. Added inorganic phosphate reversed the inhibition, thus suggesting that arsenate may exert its effect on growth through an influence on phosphate metabolism. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
