Abstract
A review of the literature in the use of hypnosis for physiological alteration and ego strengthening indicates that the incidence of cancer may be alterable. A pilot study of three years duration for a subject population considered to be at risk for cancer (N = 43) has been completed. The results of this study, as well as the hypnotic model on which the intervention was based, are discussed. Suggestions for further research are noted. Keywords
