Abstract
Thermal dye diffusion printing is a non-impact printing process that generates color prints that rival photographs in quality. The process involves the transfer of dye from a color ribbon to a receiver under the influence of a thermal head. It is therefore a completely dry process totally under electronic control. Applications range from color proofing, through business presentations, medical imaging, etc., ultimately to photographic replacement. Keywords
