Abstract
The modes of propagation of x rays for a four-beam case in the germanium crystal are evaluated, and, after the application of the proper boundary conditions, the ratios of the exit intensities are calculated. On the assumption that pairs of beams within modes form standing waves, the anomalously transmitted beams have been obtained. These results were subjected to experimental checks which seem to justify them. In addition, the actual forms of the dispersion sheets were obtained for a three-beam case in germanium. It was also shown that the symmetry points of the dispersion sheets play a dominant role in the anomalous transmission. Keywords
