Abstract
The operation of optically excited micro-resonator sensors is described in which internal feedback provided by an optical interferometer induces self-oscillation. Unmodulated light passes to the sensor through an optical fibre to maintain the oscillation, and modulated light is returned down the fibre with a frequency characteristic of the stress applied to the resonator. Keywords
