Abstract
Presentation of CaseAn eighty-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital complaining of a right-lower-quadrant ache.Two years before admission, she noted the presence of a mass in the lower abdomen on the right. It was slightly tender to palpation and did not change in size over the period of her observation. During the two years before admission she also noted lower-back pain (in the region of the lumbosacral ligaments), which persisted and, in the few months before admission, confined her to bed. In addition, she had had some vague abdominal "soreness" unrelated to meals or position. Appetite and strength . . .
