Evidence for a positive parity decoupled band in ${}^{79}{Rb}$

Abstract

A band of levels has been assigned to the previously unobserved

{}^{79}{Rb}

. The measurements of angular distributions and excitation functions are consistent with an interpretation of these levels as arising from the decoupling of a

1 g_{\frac{9}{2}}

proton from the

{}^{78}{Kr}

core. The results are compared with the previously proposed

{}^{81}{Rb}

decoupled band.
