Actinomycotic Pleuropericarditis1,2

Abstract
A case of actinomycosis initially appearing clinically as pleuropericarditis without external lesions is described. The pathogenesis of the disease, the nature of the organism, and the therapeutic considerations are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the importance of obtaining material from which an etiologic diagnosis can be made on the value of surgical intervention for both diagnosis and therapy.
