Abstract
Horse antipneumococcus antibody prepns. were digested with crystalline pepsin and studied in the ultracentrifuge. The digested antibody was precipitated with specific polysaccharide and the specific precipitate dissociated with NaCl. The purified, digested and dissociated antibody combines with twice as much polysaccharide per mg. antibody N as the normal antibody. Its sedimentation constant is 5.2 X 10-13 cm/sec/dyne. Digested antibody was found more soluble in distilled water than untreated antibody which facilitated purification. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
