Changes in luminance affect dichoptic unique yellow

Abstract
An extension of the Benzschawel–Guth ATDN model [Color Res. Appl. 9, 133 (1984)] predicts that, for dichoptic presentation, the green-to-red (G/R) ratio required to obtain a unique yellow percept should decrease with increasing luminance, because the green postreceptor hue response increases faster than the red postreceptor hue response with increasing intensity. However, for monoptic presentation the model predicts that the G/R ratio should remain invariant, because the neural responses from the receptors increase at the same rate with increases in luminance. Data from four subjects confirmed these predictions.
