Abstract
Bioassays with male Hypsipyla grandella show that virgin females produce pheromones shortly after eclosion with peak production in 2–3 days, declining thereafter. Pheromone production is maximum during the scotophase; lab-reared virgin females call with similar frequencies as wild moths; and the presence or absence of Cedrela odorata foliage has no influence on female calling behavior.
