Abstract
Cytophotometric measurements of the relative amount of DNA per nucleus in many differentiated tissues revealed that the Liliaceous species investigated differentiate within the diploid condition. However, different nuclear conditions, i.e. cell nuclei in the pre-DNA synthesis phase (G1) and also in the post-DNA synthesis phase (G2) were found in the analysed mature tissues. The importance of cell differentiation from G1 and/or G2 is discussed. This publication has 22 references indexed in Scilit:
