Abstract
This chapter analyzes a series of events in the design and development of information systems in the National Health Service (NHS). The argument consists of three parts. Section two presents a brief elaboration of the theoretical approach, signalling its linkages to related arguments in other chapters of the present volume. Section three presents the analysis of the evolution of information systems in the NHS. The final section concludes by drawing out the implications for our understanding of the interactions between organizational change and the development of information systems. Keywords
