Abstract
• This article reviews the literature on the goals of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The authors define and elaborate several dimensions of goals suggested by a phenomenologic affinity of the data, and discuss the clinical and clinical-research significance of this compilation.Keywords
