Abstract
The conditions for the validity of an 'adiabatic' symmetry property of the inelastic scattering amplitude are studied in some detail. It is shown that these conditions include some restrictions on the potentials but that the symmetry property holds more generally than within the DWBA. The corresponding property of the T-matrix elements is derived and some consequences of this property are noted. Keywords
