Abstract
Response of trapped ions in a circulating electron beam to a sharp pulsed voltage applied to a clearing electrode was successfully observed with a NaI scintillator, detecting γ-rays caused by the trapped ions. It was found that velocity distribution of trapped ions is 3.3 times wider than the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution of CO+ ions. The pulse response was also analyzed considering transmission, elimination and production of trapped ions. Keywords
