Abstract
Far-infrared spectra and two-dimensional X-ray single crystal data show that tungsten pentachloride has a bridged dimeric octahedral structure like Mo2Cl10, and does not contain trimeric clusters [W3Cl12]3+[Cl–]3 as previously suggested. Keywords
