Abstract
I examine the coverage of career criminal research in 38 introductory criminology textbooks published from 1983 to 1992. My data show that although criminology journals devote extensive attention to career offenders, textbook authors largely ignore this topic. I conclude by discussing the implications of the textbooks' neglect of career criminals for criminology students. Keywords
