MICROMANOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF GALACTOSE BY DIFFERENTIAL FERMENTATION USING A STRAIN OF STREPTOCOCCUS MASTITIDIS

Abstract
A method is descr. for a rapid microdetermination of galactose in the presence of glucose, fructose, mannose and lactose. The method is based on the presence of an adaptive enzyme for the fermentation of galactose in a strain of S. mastitidis. As little as 2000 [mu]g. of galactose can be detd. accurately.
