Abstract
A method of producing “flat” X-ray isodose curves at any given depth in a phantom by means of “stepped” copper filters, is described. Details of these filters as fitted in a variety of applicators are given. A specimen isodose curve is shown and the effects of the filter on the surface dose and dose distribution, and on the central percentage depth dose values, are discussed. Keywords
