Abstract
A group of obstetricians and gynecologists and a professional family planning staff were surveyed. Continuing medical education and in-service training programs must impart a greater knowledge of basic genetic principles and awareness of existing screening programs and counseling services. There is considerable support for large-scale genetic screening and counseling programs. Many of those surveyed had been asked to provide or had referred clients for genetic counseling. A regional genetic program is briefly discussed. Keywords
