Abstract
To the Editor: The letter entitled "Different Look at Chiropractic" (New England Journal of Medicine, September 16) from Andrew T. Nadel raises several issues that indicate further comment.The acceptance of osteopathy, podiatry, psychology and optometry by spokesmen for medical organizations should be construed as an endorsement of these disciplines as appropriate contributors to the task of delivering quality health care. In addition, such acceptance constitutes a recognition of the presence of effective education, according to appropriate standards, following scientific principles.The disciplines mentioned above offer their teachings for all to scrutinize.
