Abstract
Osteochondral fragments of the femoral condyles may occur as the result of either fractures or osteochondritis dissecans. The cases of 2 patients who both had large osteochondral fragments, 1 after fracture and 1 after osteochondritis dissecans are presented. In these patients cortical matchstick grafts were used as bone pegs or nails to fix the fragment in its bed on the femoral condyle. Through the same incision, these grafts were obtained from the proximal medial part of the tibia.
