Floral initiation of Pharbitis nil, a short-day plant, under continuous high-intensity light

Abstract
Pharbitis nil, a short-day plant, initiated floral buds under continuous illumination at 23°C, provided that the light intensity was kept at 16,000 lux or above. Stem elongation of the plants was strongly inhibited but leaves developed normally under this condition.
