Determination of Job Heaviness and Heat Exposure in Two Industrial Tasks

Abstract
The work stress and heat stress of two laundry workers doing heavy work were studied. Physiological responses were monitored by telemetry and biomedical recording instruments. Measurements of the environmental heat were made by determination of WBGT and by the Botsford Wet Globe Thermometer. The work-heat stresses were evaluated and found to be in excess of recommended limits necessitating control measures.
