Abstract
Using the iontophoretic technique it was observed that 10% and 5% solns. of pyribenzamine, applied to the ventral surface of the forearm, completely inhibited wheal formation when 1 to 10,000 and 1 to 100,000 dilutions of histamine were administered by the same technique. The inhibitory powers were present even after a lapse of 24 hrs. NaCl, ephedrine hydrochloride, ephedrine sulphate, and pro-caine hydrochloride had no inhibitory effect in concs, from 10-0.1%.
