Abstract
Internal derangements of the temporomandibular joint are a common cause of pain in the joint area. Several specific surgical treatments for this disorder are advocated, but none is yet well established. Meniscectomy was one of the more commonly done procedures. While published results of meniscectomy were encouraging, there were few details upon which to base opinions. Meniscectomy was performed in 40 joints with seriously deformed disks. A detailed analysis of the results supported the effectiveness of this form of treatment. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
