Abstract
The role of correlations in the bulk modulus and equilibrium lattice spacing of the transition metals is studied using a perturbation method related to Gutzwiller's approximation and is found to decrease the bulk modulus and increase the lattice spacing, the effect being greatest in the middle of the 3d series in agreement with experimentKeywords
