Abstract
OUR QUALITY-OF-LIFE (QOL) project was initiated in the late 1980s because we realized that while therapy was evolving in many ways, multi-institution trials had failed to demonstrate meaningful survival differences among various forms of treatment. This led to a consideration of measuring QOL as a way to compare treatment modalities with similar cure rates. Keywords
