Abstract
This paper examines the extent to which a consensus grid represents the individual repertory grids which comprise it. The results of a repertory grid study are reported to demonstrate that generalizations about certain groups made on the basis of a consensus grid can misrepresent or miss important aspects of the data, because the method does not take into account variation in response. Keywords
