Dehydrotestosterone Penile Stimulation in Hypospadias Surgery

Abstract
50 patients with hypospadias (n = 45) or epispadias (n = 5) were submitted to surgery after a 4-week period of local stimulation by dehydrotestosterone cream. Results as well as side effects were evaluated on testosterone blood level, pubic hair, bone age and virilization symptoms after 1 and 3 months and 1 year. The increase of the length and circumference has been impressive in most of the patients allowing easiest and earliest surgery. Side effects have been negligible.
