Abstract
A multi-terminal transducer (m.t.t.) is a network with a set of n input terminals and a set of n output terminals. The properties of m.t.t.'s and their representation by matrices are a generalization of four-pole theory. The m.t.t. is represented by its impedance, admittance or transfer matrices. The special properties of m.t.t.'s that exhibit symmetry, reciprocity or both properties are discussed. The representation is definite or indefinite according to whether the voltage reference terminals are specified or not. Methods are derived to write down the transfer matrices of given m.t.t.'s. Some simple networks may be analyzed by inspection; more complicated networks may be treated as a cascade of simpler onesKeywords
