Abstract
No statistically significant relationship was shown for umbilical cord blood levels of lead and residency during gestation in either city or suburbs. The role of smoking cigarettes was also not significantly related. These values for cord blood lead are the first noted in the literature. If atmospheric contamination with lead continues at its present rate, further studies of cord blood lead concentration should be undertaken. Keywords
