Abstract
On some water‐quality specification lists, standards of odor and taste rank second only to toxicological criteria. In the minds of some quality‐control personnel, taste and odor might be ranked first. At the moment, however, man's ability to evaluate taste and odor quantitatively using human “instruments” is limited. Keywords
