Abstract
Substitution, in part or totally, of the β- receptor antagonist, oxprenolol, for clonidine in 187 hypertensive patients resulted in significant reduction in blood pressure levels, particularly of systolic pressure. The incidence of unwanted side-effects was markedly reduced, with an accompanying improvement in the quality of the patient's life. Keywords
