Abstract
We measure the mean lifetime and the decay-width difference of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the meson, and , in decays using of data collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. Assuming conservation, a good approximation for the system in the standard model, we obtain and , the most precise measurements to date. Our constraints on the weak phase and are consistent with conservation.
