Abstract
A flash tube of annular design, improved flash circuitry, and a photomultiplier enabler circuit are described. Results obtained with this apparatus indicate that the system quickly delivers a large number of photons into an absorption cell (viz., ∼6×1016 photons/cc with about 5 μsec 1/e time and 50 μsec total decay time) and is thus suited for studies of fast photochemical kinetics. Keywords
