Abstract
The average daily gain records reported from 26 central test stations in Canada and the United States for 2630 beef bulls of the Angus, Charolais, Hereford and Shorthorn breeds were analyzed. The within breed regressions of variance on means at the different stations were found to be non significant. The within breed variance differed significantly from station to station, while the within station variances did not differ significantly from breed to breed. Breed by station interaction was found to be statistically significant, but accounted for only a small percent of variation in this data. Copyright © 1972. American Society of Animal Science.
