Abstract
Positron spectra and total cross sections for pair production in the field of an atom are calculated for a range of values of the atomic number and for photon energies below about 2.5 MeV. Screening effects by the atomic electrons are neglected. Good agreement with earlier theoretical calculations and with available experimental results is obtained. Keywords
