Thyroid Adenomas in Rats Receiving Selenium

Abstract
Nearly all lake trout found in Great Bear Lake, N. W. Territory, Canada, were hosts to 2 intestinal parasites, (1) a cestode, Eubothrium sahelini, and (2) an acanthocephalart, Edtinorhynchus sahelini. The tape-worms from 2 different trout bad some of the acanthocephalans firmly attached to their bodies. The relationship was not truly parasitism, since the acanthocephalan proboscis is for attachment and not nourishment.
