Abstract
Various iron doped BaTiO3 single crystals were grown by the pulling method, absorption dielectric permittivity, conductivity, photo-conductivity, crystallographic parameters, refractive index, birefringence... were measured. Then, electrooptical coefficients, holographic efficiency and optical sensibility were studied. A large increase (about 1000) of the holographic efficiency and the optical sensibility were shown for a crystal with 0.075% at Fe; for the same concentration the electrooptical coefficient is multiplied by 7.5 and the space charge field by about 100, the tetragonality (c/a–1) of the unit cell is maximum. Optimisation of all the typical parameters is necessary to get these large effects in BaTiO3: Fe crystals. Keywords
