Abstract
UOSe is antiferromagnetic at 4.2°K with a magnetic unit‐cell twice the size of the chemical one in the c‐direction. The magnetic moments are aligned along the c‐axis, μ = (2.21 ± 0.05) Bohr magnetons. The magnetic structure is of the UOS type. The temperature dependence of 1/X shows a change in the slope at 300°K. The effective moment and the Weiss constant below this point are 2.87 and −10 °K respectively. Above 300 °K the effective moment is 3.30 Bohr magnetons and the Weiss constant −120 °K. At 90 °K a maximum occurs on the log ϱ against temperature curve. Keywords
