Abstract
A differential adiabatic calorimeter having cells designed for handling solid or liquid samples of variable volume is described. Good resolution may be achieved at scanning rates of 4-20 degrees C h-1with a sensitivity such that a thermal effect of 0.05 cal degrees C-1can be measured with a precision of 5%. A simple modification allows use of the instrument as a differential thermal analyzer. Keywords
