Voice onset time for voiceless stop consonants in the fluent reading of stutterers and nonstutterers

Abstract
Stutterers (10) and nonstutterers (10) read The Rainbow Passage. Intervocalic voiceless stop consonant segments were selected and displayed on wide-band spectrograms. VOT [voice-onset-time] measurements indicated the stutterers displayed longer VOT values than the nonstutterers, and VOT values increased in duration as place of articulation moved back in the oral cavity.
