Abstract
Excitation functions for the synthesis of , , , , , , and in the bombardments of , , and with and are presented. A good fit to these functions has been obtained by the use of the Jackson formula as modified to include fission and angular-momentum effects. Experimental values of are compared with the semiempirical formula of Fujimoto and Yamaguchi and the following new empirical formula: , where is for and for . A brief discussion of systematics of transberkelium nuclides and the effect of the 152-neutron subshell is given.
