Formulae for the rotational intensity distribution of 5Σ ↔ 5Π (int) transitions in diatomic molecules

Abstract
Explicit expressions are obtained for the intensity distribution in the 5Σ ↔ 5Π transitions, where the 5Π state may belong to the coupling case intermediate between Hund's cases (a) and (b). The observed intensity values of the 5Σ ↔ 5Π transition of the CrO molecule are compared with those calculated from the intensity formulae derived, and good agreement is found.
